Below are the Gatekeepers at WindWalker Pugs, Missy & CodieBear.  They are Alaskan Malamutes
we adopted from Malamute Rescue. We've found Mals to be wonderful dogs, and these two are no
exception!

Just recently they proved to be good pack members when they chased and cornered a coyote that
was after our Pugs! The coyote got inside the perimeter fence out in the woods. He didn't realize
Missy & CodieBear were not about to let him dig his way into the Pug yard. They had him cornered,
but they didn't hurt him, and after chasing him through the woods, they allowed him to go back out
the way he came in. All in a day's work for them.

Chances are this one won't be back, but if so, our Malamutes will give him another dose of the same.

Of course, the Pugs assisted in the mayhem, by barking from behind the chain link fence that
surrounds the covered patio.  They were safe with me as we watched Missy & Codie teach that
darn coyote he'd better look for his dinner somewhere else!!!

CODIEBEAR
Missy and CodieBear, are littermates, although they don't look alike. They are so bonded to each
other they don't like to be separated for even a short period of time.

Although both are very sweet and loving, they consider our Pugs to be our "puppies" and as good
pack members, they are very protective of them. We don't allow the Pugs to play with the Mals,
but the Mals keep a close eye on everything that goes on inside the Pug yard.
Missy & Codie have a
separate play area, and they patrol the perimeter of our property with watchful eyes.
Missy likes
to leave us little "treasures" right at the gate. Small creatures she's "cleared" from the area.

We don't have to worry about anything (or anyone) getting past
Missy and into the Pug yard. Even
when the Pugs are in the house,
Missy is on the job, keeping all of us safe!
Missy takes her job seriously when it comes to guarding the gates and her "pack" !!!
CodieBear is much more into having a good time!  He loves to run the
fence and race the Pugs from one side of the Pug yard to the other.
