Am/Can CH WindWalker's Rocky Fantasy

Rocky was a darling puppy  .  .  .
.  .  .  And, a beautiful young show dog, who finished fast, after making a splash at the 2004
PDCA Nationals in Olympia, WA.
The next year, he wondered why his half-siblings, from mom's
2005 litter were getting all the attention .  .  .
.  .  .  After
all, he was
the
"STAR"
and he was
not happy
when he
wasn't
going to all
the shows!
After sitting around the house and waiting to mature, he showed us  .  .  .
.  .  .  With Back-to-Back Group 2's, and making the ALL
Breed Top 18 Pugs list in just one month's worth of shows!  
We understood his need to compete in the ring, so we' let him
have some fun, once in a while, including a few nice wins  .  .  .

NOTE: Rocky's show record is available on our "SHOW NEWS" page. His 2007 achievements,
are on our 2007 Show News page earned him an invitation to the Westminster Kennel Club's
show & the World Dog Show at  Crufts in March, 2008. He didn't go to Crufts, but did go to
New York for Westminster! Rocky can be seen as the first Pug at the start of the 2008
Westminster Kennel Club Pug video on their web site.

What kind of abuse do show dogs put up with? Here's a prime example of why Rocky loved to show!

It is with a broken heart that I have to report
Rocky's tragic death.

My Dearest Sweetest Boo-Boo Baby Boy,

        Rocky Arrives at the Rainbow Bridge
                                12/23/03 – 05/14/08

You must be kidding.  It can’t be him.  It’s way too soon.  Hon, what are you
doing here?

I know.  I know.  I’m so sorry about this.  It was sudden and unexpected.  
I’m sorry because I loved showing and because I did, I was good at it.  I’m
probably most sorry about disappointing all of the people who loved me so
much and cared for me.  My time was short, but it was wonderful.

Well, we’re sorry too boy.  Now, just relax and enjoy yourself.. It’s all
playtime and beautiful memories from now on.  You’re among many, many
good friends who love you.  Now go.  Run like the wind, Rocky.

I hope we can personally thank everyone for the love and support through this difficult time, but please
know how much your email, phone calls, cards and flowers help. To those strangers that have shared
their comfort, to those friends that have offered their love, every heartfelt gesture from your hearts
helps mend one small piece of mine.   We can all share the common bond, that life spares no one from
grief and pain.  It takes a tragedy sometimes to remind us and open our hearts to each other.

co-breeder, Diana Hedstrom, when he was just a baby.

For those who were wondering, WinDee is not pregnant.
So, no Rocky babies at this time. Maybe someday, but
there will never be another quite like our Rocky.
